Re: Obama the socialist...

No press??

When all you hear for two days is how Obama said "You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig" and tried to depict him as sayin that towards Palin...Then yeah, I think the press is reporting the things on Obama as well.

So finally, after 8 years, you admit voting for Bush was a mistake? He has gotten the whole country wobbling like a duck.

My opinion, anyone who would have been president during the past 8 years would be in the same situation. Maybe a little better situation or even a little worse but still an awful situation. Bush is not the greatest president by no means but he is also a victim of circumstances that he had no control over.

Its how he handled the situations is what makes him a bad president. Victim my ass. The victims are the thousands who have died in Iraq.

Wait till you see the next 10 yeasr, no matter who gets in. All Bush did was start a war and blow 450 billion bucks on it. That wouldn't have a effect on the rest of the country, would it?

Re: Obama the socialist...

Ask those victims if they support the reason they are there and giving their life for their country and see what they say. The only victimization I see is how all these people are risking there lives every day for a war in whih they believe in and all they get to hear is how the war is worthless and pointless. Whether you believe in the war or not I don't care instead of putting down everything about everything start, use that opinion for something good. Support the troups. You don't have to suport the war to support the troups that are giving their lives for you every day.

Most people supported the war in Iraq. I'm betting you did as well. Were most people disagree is how long to stay there. Some want to rop it Cold Turkey and let the place try and rebuild itself, others like myselfwant to set a date for the Iraqis to govern themself and slowly withdrawl from this point to that, others want to stay there and run the place and hope one day it can stand on its own. I dont want to leave with Iraq in turmoil and unable to govern itself because others will look upon this as America being unable to win a war.

My question is what can a president really do when he is in a lame duck presidency? Not just speaking of Bush but overall. Everything he could propose will get shot down by Congress, and usually vice versa. But everyone is always dying to point the finger at the president over every little thing that happens. Could Bush have stopped the economic crisis, if so how. The bank situation started before he was in office.

But, are you agreeing big Willy had a lot do with what is goin on now? If you are going to blame everything that happens to the economy in the next presdency on Bush also, it would be hipocritical not to think Willy had anything to do with the crisis today.

Re: Obama the socialist...

They only reason most were for it was because Bush, their commander in chief, led them to believe that Iraq possessed WMD's and such. He scared us all to supporting it, then once we found out there wasnt any and Saddam was gone..then we wanted our troops to come home. One of the main reasons I support Ron Paul and Obama is that they want that date. If you were to look at Obama's plan, it is to withdrawl a few brigades out each month and around 2010 most will be home. And the rep were in control of congress the first 6 years of his presidency, thats no excuse.

Sure having a little surplus to operate with and the military in fighting shape was one of the problems Bush got when he took office? No, I don't agree- he made up reasons to go to Iraq. Lied badly about SS, there really was a workable window to fix it and then going to Iraq without a clear set of goals and plan on how to run the country after killing Saddam is about as stupid a blunder as I can recall. I just don't think most folks will ever be able to admit that, so why try to explain the truth?
I mean doubling the national debt and wearing out the entire Army, Marine and National Guard troop was one of his running points, right?
